Beyond the Glass Adventure Tours is one of Ireland’s youngest activity holiday companies. We have developed three of the best, hiking and cycling tours on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Our ambition is to take you ‘BEYOND THE GLASS’ of your work PC, your phone and the bus window, and immerse you completely into the wonder and beauty of the Irish landscape. On our tours you will see some of the most spectacular and scenic places in Ireland, as well as Ireland’s richest historical and cultural sites. They have a passion for Ireland’s natural beauty, culture and heritage and an understanding of what is required for a successful and enjoyable travel experience.
The Wild Atlantic Way is the longest defined coastal touring route in the world. It stretches for over 2,500km along Ireland’s spectacular western seaboard. We at BEYOND THE GLASS ADVENTURE TOURS have selected the very best parts of the way to include in our tours, offering you the best Adventure Holidays in Ireland.
Beyond The Glass Adventure Tours was established by James Foley. James was born and raised on a farm in Aghabullogue, Co. Cork. His passion and love for Ireland was instilled in him from a young age as he travelled with his family the length and breadth of Ireland. His appreciation for Ireland grew further in his adult years as he began to hike Ireland’s Mountains and Cycle along its Wild Atlantic Coast.
James’s previous career, with multi-national pharmaceutical companies, allowed him to travel to some fantastic places across Europe, Africa, Asia and America. While travelling he got to hike and cycle in many wonderful locations.
He has setup BTG Tours to take you “beyond the glass”—the glass of your device, the bus window, and your office PC— for your very own unforgettable Adventure Tour of Ireland.
We have developed our sustainability policy to align with the UNWTO definition of sustainable tourism – “Tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.”
Beyond the Glass Adventure Tours bring you ‘Beyond the Glass’ – be it the glass of the office or the bus windows or the glass of your electronic devise – for enjoyable and enriching experiences in the outdoors. We believe honest reflection, small steps and simplicity can lead to meaningful change.

We will share our passion for the natural world with all who interact with us, it is our hope that those who do travel with us will gain a deeper appreciation of the natural world and personal commitment to sustainable travel.

Anju & Nitin: The trip was spectacular and I cannot think of a better way to have seen Ireland’s beautiful landscape....... The hotel accommodations were excellent and food we ate at various places was delicious.

We took the 8 day tour of the Wild Atlantic Way on the West side of the island. We saw cool hidden gem locations with some insane views. I don't think we would have gotten the same experience with a larger company. You can always tell when someone is passionate about what they do and James has passion in spades. I would highly recommend his tours for anyone looking for an authentic Irish experience.

The activities are described in the trip advisor profile - but they hardly do it justice. I'm not sure I have ever said "WOW" so many times! Whatever you are expecting - IT IS BETTER!! Imagine hiking and riding bikes through the mountains, valleys and along waterways with sheep and horses freely roaming the fields around you, the greenery, rock and flowers covering the landscape, and laughing and learning all the way along. We regularly stopped for breaks for those who needed it, and he had option after option to ensure that you were comfortable yet challenged too.
